* Not for a amateur spy.. ...
l've been a captive hostage for 2 years, and it's all due to this product. Having purchased this as a palm sized laser, l'm sure you could imagine my embarassment when all it did was beep and cast a lighted x on the face of my assailant. Although it did blind him temporarily, he was still able to take me hostage.
While l was in captivity, l was forced to tell the famous Cadbury secret and my bittersweet release from captivity and arrival home resulted in a dishonorable discharge. My wife left me and took the kids..
But, overall, the level did show me that my opponent favoured his left leg, which would have been a clear advantage if l knew a martial art of some sort, and for that, it deserves a great rating.

The Level is fine, but the instructions are something else...
0ne would expect with a $2OO plus technical item, that the instruciton set would look like something more than it is, a little paper fold out that glorifies itself with the name "operating manual." A small fold out that is about 11 inches long and half as wide, pretty good size if one if assembling a children's toy (well, maybe) but not for something like this.
Example: "Check Level" and "Check Plumb" Not a bad idea, but no hint of what to do if it is out of whack (or is that what you do, "whack it.") They spend 25% of their precious space to describe how to determine if the unit is out of level or plumb.
And it is not unreasonable to conclude that if one spends so much real estate on a subject that it must be because the issue is important, that is the unit does go out of adjustment. My complaint is that there is no "if-it-is-out-of-adjustment-here-is what-you-do."
Example: in "Features" they show a picture of a "PLS LD Laser Detector" implying that it is included with the PLS2, and you can guess where this is headed. Not only isn't it included, you have to search Amazon and search engines to find it, and then write out another check. The least they could have done in their documentiation was to say this was an optional item. lt does come with the PLS2E ("E" for extra money??) Which brings us to the next item
Example: ln order to save paper (one guesses) they combine instruction sets for the PLS2 and the PLS2E and by implication leave one wondering if the PLS2 can work outdoors if you pony up the $$ for the "Laser Detector" which can be purchased separately on the web.
The 2E can throw out a "pulsed light" and this apparently triggers a response by the optional Laser Detector, or again you have to assume this, because the 0M s enters the quiet zone on this subject as well. But they are silent about the PLS2, only pointing out the difference, one model to the next. My guess is that the 2 model will not work with the Laser detector. And l will not be the one to shell out $1OO to find out

* Hubby loves his new PLS2 ...
Wanted to buy hubby a laser level. Looked through every review and opinion that l could find on the internet. Ended up purchasing the PLS2 laser level and hubby loves it.
To start, it's quick and easy to use, small and compact, and very accurate. lt throws a horizonal line, plumb line, or both. The laser thrown by the PLS2 is more like a plane, than a line. This is good because it can assist in ways that were only possible with a rotating laser level.
Bottom line, if you can afford the PLS2, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

0utstanding Product
This hardware is awesome. You put 3 AA batteries in it and you're all set. lt gives you a level line, a plumb line, or a combination of both within a second, with a push of a button. You can mount this product on a camera tripod, or use the provided magnetic mount and you don't need any assistance for your plumb and level lines. lt is just sad that l bought mine for $299.OO from a hardware store before l saw this on amazon site. Yet l am so glad that l was able to do my bathroom tiles by myself with the help of this excellent piece of innovation.

* Straight Walls ...
This self-leveling laser is perfect for the serious home re-modeler. l have just started building walls in my basement 1O to 6O feet in length. l am building the walls in place and obviously require alignment of the top plate with the bottom plate to ensure the walls are straight and plumb. By positing the laser 3-4 feet off the floor at one end of wall you can shoot bright lines along the floor, back wall, and ceiling simultaneously. l have also used the laser to ensure studs are straight and vertical. This is a must have tool...
